4.2L x 4000rpm = 4.2 x 2000 = 8400 liters/minute

1 cubic foot = 28.3 litres

8400/28.3 = 296cfm (cubic feet per minute)

that's at atmospheric aspiration. add 6.8% for every 1 psi boost.

eg at 13psi:

296 + 296 x (.068 x 13) = 558cfm.

you can fiddle the numbers for whatever boost you intend to run.

cheers matt

Ive done my calcs (hours worth) and selected a turbo, GT2871R with .82 A/R

Im staying mid to high range trim as the turbo is more suited to a 3.7L

I would love to build a laminova cooler, but its just too expensive after this over 2k turbo manifold and lines setup...

Ill just have to make a PWR 650Hp Barrel cooler work....

Think I may be going with the GT2860RS with the .86 A/R, and running low (7-10) boost when I do the 1HZ.

Still not finalized.

The calcs are very daunting to look at, I had not tackled anything like them since I left school over 26 years ago
However after completing it myself it was quite rewarding to have gone through all the figures.

Yes that turbo is nick named the "Disco Potato", its a great mid ranged turbo, will work great on the 1HZ, try and use some more boost though something like minimum 12psi... and the pump tuned to suit
